handicapped sticker please

So I'm wondering how crippled you have to be to qualify for one of those handicapped parking passes. I think I'm just getting old or something...but I am having serious issues with my hips putting me into excruciating pain. I feel like the biggest idiot sometimes because I can't even stand up or sit down without feeling like an invalid. I think I've narrowed it down to either my hips have never really been in perfect alignment and now that I'm older and pregnant my muscles aren't as great at supporting the weight and keeping it off my hips--(one of my hips is rolled forward a bit----thanks for the genetics DAD!) or the nurse at my Dr.'s office seemed to brush it off like it was normal to hobble around in extreme pain. She said it is just my ligaments stretching---It doesn't feel so much like stretching as it does sheer pain. I think next time I go to my Dr. I'm going to ask if I qualify :) And people wonder why pregnant women waddle.

How much More "boy" could they be

What better thing to do on a Saturday than set up a "bike fixing shop" Morgan carried Micah's tool box all the way into the living room (I was pretty impressed cause it's pretty darn heavy--even to me.) and they decided that they needed to "fix" Jak's bike. The Roller board that they were using to get in and out from under the bike was Morgan's mini-skateboard.
Complete with "safety goggles" (their sunglasses) and "work gloves" (a gardening glove that they lost the mate to so they only had one.) and red electrical tape everywhere (not really sure what purpose that played in the whole scenario.)

Incidentally, the HUGE band-aid Jacksen is sporting on his forehead is from a header he took the day before off of his bike. He actually flipped over the handle bars and landed on his forehead. That'll teach him to watch where he is biking and look out for curbs! I could barely get him to Ice it. He just wanted to go back out and play. Perhaps that is why they decided his bike needed "fixing"

Thank You Kung Fu Panda!

Last night we went and saw Kung Fu Panda (Highly recommend BTW) There was a part where the panda gets hit in the groin on a gauntlet sort of thing, and says "OH, my Tenders!" the boys of course thought that was soooooooo funny and have been finding ways to use the term "Tenders" and giggle all day today.

Apart from appealing to kids through potty talk it was a good movie, no hidden adult agenda (like Wall-E or Happy Feet) Just a warm fuzzy, good message movie...WAY TO GO Dreamworks!

I had a dream

Our Fourth of July ---unfortunately, I didn't really take very many pictures. Micah and the boy's started the morning going running (Micah runs; boys ride their bikes beside.) They had a nasty run in with a couple of dogs who were running for them full speed as if they were going to rip them apart. Micah grabbed some pebbles to throw as a deterrent, after upgrading to golf ball size rocks the dogs let off although still barking ferociously. A few min. later some guy in a red truck drives along side Micah and starts cussing him out for "cruelty to animals" etc. Micah has been bit by a dog before and these are mean dogs (I've experienced them as well) and he said they had that same look as the dog that bit him. For all that know Micah he likes dogs, he grew up with dogs, but you have to make dogs that mean. Micah kept trying to end the conversation and wishing the "lovely gentleman" a nice day, to which he kept trying to start a new fight with Micah. Finally, Micah said, "Sir, You've got some real problems" and that was finally enough to shut him up and get rid of him. Oddly enough he had a dream that night before that Mean dogs came in our house and were attacking us.

Later, We went to our friends' the Sessions house, BBQ'd and I made some of my yummy potato salad. The kids swam in their pool (It is one of those 3'x10' ish --big enough for kids, but only big enough to tempt adults) Then everyone that came brought whatever fireworks they had and we had quite the array of fireworks) They also have a great view of the Valley which we were able to see Boise's, Eagles, and Meridian's? fireworks I'm not sure about that last one but their were 3 huge displays we could see. Then midway through our own fireworks display, the hill behind our friend's house caught on fire...as well as some fields and a bunch of backyards of people that lived on a golf course next to where the fire was. The kids were a bit worried. It looked like the fire was close and would burn the field behind their house but it was actually far from that. My friend had also dreamt that night before, that there was a fire in the field behind their house and she was worried about it reaching them--to which her husband (in the dream ) said "it's nothing don't worry, go to sleep"

The picture is Jaks. He doesn't like too many loud fireworks and plus I think he was getting worried about the fire. So this is Jacksen not enjoying the fireworks anymore. :)

As promised for Casi (and anyone else @ the baby blessing that wanted this)

Courtesy of my friend Kimberlee (thanks Kim!), (tweeked a bit ;)--and enlarged :)

Green Apple Snicker Salad

1 Red Apple (a sweet one like Fuji or Gala)
3-4 Granny Smith Green Apples
4-5 Snickers Bars
1 Pint Whipping cream
Powdered Sugar (for whipping cream about 1/2 C. or more)
1- 6 oz Container of Vanilla yoguart, and 1- 6 oz container of whipped strawberry yoguart ( I used Yoplait)

Put Snickers bars in freezer for about 10-15 min to make them easier to chop and keep them from melting while chopping and in the salad. Whip whipping cream until right whipping cream consistancy, add Powdered sugar to taste. Fold in 2 containers of Yoguart. Then add apples then lastly snickers bars. Serve. If proportions don't seem right you can add or subtract some apple or whipped cream or snickers bars.

So Yummy Dinner I just Made--fast and easy too

(THIS IS VERY MUCH NOT A DIET RECIPE :)

"Oh, Wow! This is the kind of food I'd pay money for!"
-------Micah Budge

Chicken In Lemon Cream with Penne
serves 4-6

1 pound penne pasta
3 TBLS extra-virgin olive oil
2 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, diced into 1-inch cubes
NOTE: ( I wasn't sure if the halves meant they were 2 of them stuck together or what but I just used 2 chicken breasts and it wasn't enough--the chicken noodle ratio was off--I would recommend trying 3 regular chicken breasts.)
1 tsp Herbes de Provence
(I used 'Tones Italian seasoning' spice and put in a tiny bit extra thyme--although it was good it would probably be better to have the actual spice :)
Pinch of salt, plus 1/2 teaspoon more
Pinch of freshly ground black pepper, plus 1/4 teaspoon more
1 Cup reduced-sodium chicken broth
2 Cups heavy cream
Zest of one lemon
Pinch of cayenne pepper
1/4 Cup chopped fresh flat leaf parsley
(I only used dried parsley--that's what I had and I used quite a bit less probably 3 TBLS)
2 -3 TBLS fresh squeezed lemon juice

Bring large pot of salted water to boil over high heat. Add pasta and cook until tender, stirring occasionally, about 8-10 min. Drain.

Meanwhile, heat the oil in large heavy skillet over med-high heat. Season the cubed chicken breasts with Herbes de Provence and pinch of salt and pepper. Cook chicken in hot oil until golden brown, about 5 min. Using slotted spoon remove chicken from pan, and add chicken to noodles. Pour off any excess oil from pan. Add the Chicken broth to the skillet and cook over med-high heat, using a wooden spoon to scrape the brown bits off the bottom of the pan. Add the cream, Lemon Zest and Cayenne. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Let Simmer and reduce, about 10-15 min.

Add 1/2 tsp. Salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, parsley and lemon juice to chicken and pasta, stir in. Pour Cream sauce over chicken/pasta mix and toss to coat evenly. Serve.
