The Twilight Vortex

So this weekend (labor day) we went to Micah's brother and his wife's house and since I didn't have a whole lot to do I started to read her Twilight series books. (actually I listened to the first one on her I-Pod and then read what she said were the Important bits out of the next two, and she gave me a synopsis of the rest. Which left the 4th book which she had on CD and I have listened to obsessively for the last week till I finally finished it....I was so determined not to be part of the fad, and yet I still got sucked in. Although they were very good books. And now I wait in anticipation with all the other crazed fans for the movie to come out. Sometimes I feel pathetic. Oh well It was a fun diversion while it lasted.

♥ I still haven't read them yet. I keep thinking I will and then never do! So they were worth it? :)

Ahhh....Bella and Edward sitting in a tree.... I read them when I was put into YW so I'd have something to talk to the girls about. I loved them. I critisized some of the depth of love--seemed like a lot of infatuation to me. But I devoured them--the first three in one week and then had to wait for the fourth but finished it off in a day or two. Now...if only I will get through War and Peace that I started months back...you know, devour Tolstoy...right...

Responding to your comment on my blog: I do adore Bella and Edward's relationship, of course. It is just that you read Bella always talking about his breath intoxicating her and stuff like that--and not a lot about qualities or things he does that woo her. But it is high school so that is what you expect, I guess. Of course there is a depth--they go to great lengths and they were seriously made for each other: him not ever being in love for that long until she came along, her made to be a vampire because she is so fearless and has so much control over herself. It's a great story. I AM so excited for the movie. Can you believe they aren't doing the Harry Potter movie until next summer?! Twilight is still there, solid.

Hey Rachel! I myself got sucked into the Twilight series. After finishing the first book at record pace and swearing to by buy the 2nd ASAP, I got busy with other things and forgot about the series. But you just reminded me how much I loved the first book- and now I have to continue them. I didn't know there was a movie coming out! Anyway, I really just wanted to say hi and congrats on your third! It's been a long time since I saw you! I just started a blog (yesterday) so you can check it out sometime- just give me a little bit because it's a work in progress! Well, take care! It's great to find you on here!
